- Arrival at KNO airport before 10 am.
- Meet and greet at the airport.
- Departure to Bohorok (southern part of Leuser National Park).
- Driving northwest towards Bokhorok (approximately 5 hours drive from the airport).
- Visit Bohorok village to see orangutans.
- Along the way we pass through small towns, rubber and palm plantations.
- Check in hotel.
- Hiking into the jungle (3 hours) to observe semi-wild orangutans and local fauna.
- Return to the hotel.
Overview
Sumatra, Indonesia's largest island and nicknamed the "Island of Gold", is known for its unique culture and natural attractions. Here is Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser - one of the largest national parks in the world, as well as Lake Toba, the Batak and Mentawai peoples, Taman Nasional Way Kambas National Park, archaeological finds in Pugung and other amazing places. Day 1
Medan - Bohorok
Day 2
Bohorok – Trekking in Leuser National Park
- Breakfast.
- Start of trekking and hiking through the rainforest with a local guide.
- Wildlife viewing including orangutans, leaf monkeys, macaques, gibbons, siamangs and an abundance of birds.
- After lunch, return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3
Bohorok - Tangkahan
- Free program for recreation in Bokhorok.
- Departure and departure to Tangkahan, part of the Leuser National Park. Transport - 4X4 SUV, travel time about 2 hours. The road is partially in bad condition.
- Arrive in Tangkahan, check into the lodge where a simple dinner is served.
- In the evening you can enjoy the silence of the jungle and the sounds of birds.
Day 4
Tangkahan – Elephant Expedition + Picnic
- Walk for 15 minutes to the Elephant Center.
- Tangkahan is a point established by local and foreign NGOs to patrol the jungle against illegal loggers and poachers and protect the National Park.
- The beginning of an expedition with elephants, the opportunity to communicate closely with these beautiful animals.
- Helping the owners bathe the elephants in the Batang River.
- Observing elephants in their natural environment.
- After the hike, have a picnic by the river.
- Free program for the rest of the day.
- Dinner at the lodge.
Day 5
Tangkahan – Medan
- Return to Medan (6 hours).
- Arrival in Medan, transfer to hotel or transfer to airport.

- Bohorok: BUkit Lawang Ecolodge or Rindu Alam Hotel (basic accommodation; no hot water or air conditioning)
- Tangkahan: Jungle Lodge or Mega Inn or Mountain View Lodge or similar (basic accommodation; no hot water or air conditioning)
- For the use of a photo/video camera on the territory of the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in Bokhorok, a fee of 50,000 Rupiah/per camera and 150,000/per video camera will be charged.
- Elephant trekking is possible on all days except Friday, the program can be adjusted accordingly.
